Version 1.3 released.


I've done what I can to improve web performance, although there's still a lot to be done if I can find the time for it.

The game wasn't built with html5 in mind, and it's happy to show it.

If you find the game sluggish,  I'd recommend downloading the windows build, which should be pretty well optimised.


While this update was performance focused, I've added some other fun features:


  • Fx are now pooled with a max of 200, rather than instantiated & destroyed, which should improve performance on html5.
  • The cursor & camera should now be a little smoother on html5, closer to how they are on the desktop build. 
  • Fixed minimap disappearing during dark floors on html5.
  • Added settings menu.
  • Added restart button to pause menu.
  • Replaced 'mute music' button with a music volume slider.
  • Some materials now require 'projectile essence' in order to be summoned.
  • Enemies & boxes now drop projectile essence.
  • Added an '+ projectile essence' upgrade option to the end-of-floor upgrade screen. 
  • Added support for moving with the arrow keys. 
  • New main menu style with little jumping materials in the background. 
  • Wood material now swings like a melee weapon as a default summon.
  • Goblins can now spawn with wood. 
  • Changed wood graphic to better represent how it now works.
  • Added a new wood combination result. 
  • Characters now shake when hurt. 
  • Added some missing sound effects to menus & summoning walls. 
  • You now have a limited summon distance.
  • Added an 'Increase summon distance' option to the end-of-floor upgrade screen.
